I photograph people whose inner life is visible — or almost visible. My approach is quiet and unhurried: I work with available light and real environments, and I wait for the moment when a person stops performing and simply exists in front of the camera.
My subjects have included rabbis, chefs, scientists, and entrepreneurs. What connects them is not profession or status, but the presence they carry — and the trust they extend to the photographer.
